finley is a caring and kind-hearted individual who loves making everyone feel at home whether it's just when you’re passing by or while buying from her bait shop with her extroverted manner. she tries her best to be as genuine as she can be to everyone she meets. the fisherman is also ridiculously goofy and jokes around quite a bit. unfortunately, that makes it really hard for her to stay serious in serious situations, which shows her very scatter-brained mind at very unfortunate times. she can also sometimes be very gullible due to her kindness being taken advantage of, and her having too much faith in everyone. and while she is a very caring person, sometimes she can be very selfish. as a mother, she thinks it's very important to put her child's well being first, and when she thinks she needs to do something to keep him safe, she doesn’t take other people’s feelings into consideration. even her own.

Growing up, finley was raised by two extremely loving parents in cherry stone harbor. her father was one of the head fisherman in the city, supplying a good percentage of the city's diet with his crew's weekly voyage to hunt for fish and other sea creatures to sell at the shop run by finley's mother. but finley never cared for the financial side of the family business. she loved going out with her father and his crew. she loved the smell of the ocean, the feel of the ocean breeze misting her skin, and most of all, fishing with her father. the father and daughter duo were extremely close, and wherever her father was, she was always nearby. she lived an incredibly happy childhood.

finley discovered her powers of hydrokinesis at age 10. her parent's were petrified. not of their daughter, but of the society around her. they helped her keep this a secret, and made sure it would never be shown to the public in fear of their pride and joy being ripped away from them and being used as a weapon rather than allowing her to be a child. her mother and father would secretly take her out on their ship from time to time to allow her to work on her powers to learn how to control them better to keep her safe. they were always so supportive of her, and never saw her as a threat. she didn't have a mean bone in her body, and they knew that.

as a teenager, finley met a boy named milo that began working for her father's fishing crew. it was an instant connection between the two of them. finley fell head over heels in love in what seemed like seconds. they were incredibly happy together. for the next few years, they would work together for her family's business in fishing, for it made both of them extremely happy. and although nervous he would reject her by revealing her powers to him, his love for her never faltered. he loved her just as much when she showed him her powers. it made her more unique than she was to him before.

at 20, finley discovered she was pregnant. her and milo were incredibly excited to become parents, and her parents were just as excited to become grandparents. they were one big happy family. finley's father sent some of his men, including milo, on a deep sea fishing voyage to bring in what he would hope to be a boom in their business. milo was more than happy to go, in hopes of it allowing his family to flourish and not have to worry about financial problems down the line. he wanted his baby and finley to live a good life. but life had different plans. news came out of discovering a shipwreck on an island nearby cherrystone, with no survivors. and finley's father was able to identify the ship. milo was determined dead. and finley would have to raise their child alone. but she had to be strong for her baby. she would not allow this extreme heartbreak from stopping her from giving her child a good life.

as her months of being pregnant continued, aggression surrounding elementals grew within their community. she began fearing for the safety of her family. if she were ever to be caught, the worst would come to her parents. and then, her child. the burden weighed more and more on her shoulders as the days went on. she made the decision to leave once the baby was born. until all of this elemental chaos calmed down, she would have to stay away from her child and parents. as much as it broke her heart, she knew it was out of the best interest for her family.

the day finally came where she gave birth to her son. there was no hesitation on what to name him; Milo. he was just as perfect as his father. the name was perfect. finley didn't know she could love a living thing this much before she looked into his eyes. she knew leaving him was going to be the worst heart break she's ever felt. she gave herself a few days before leaving her son behind with her parents. overhearing from her father's crew members about a safe haven for elementals, she had a plan laid out for herself.

finally, the night came where she had to make her leave. she gave her parents both long goodbye hugs, and held milo in her arms and cried. this hurt her so much, but it was the right thing for her to do. one long and hard ship ride later, she arrived at new haven. and once the island set aflame, she decided it was a sign that it was time to fight to get back to her son as soon as she possibly could, even if she had to fight.

she is going to see her son again.
